There are positives and negatives for both, and we’d recommend speaking to one of our colleagues to discuss which would be suitable for your property.

The obvious difference between the two is the number of panes within the unit – two for double, three for triple. Generally, triple glazing is better at retaining heat inside your property and preventing cold spots from forming. In some instances, it can also help to reduce noise from outside working its way in, though if you live on a busy road there are other solutions we’d recommend you explore.

Trickle vents might not be the type of window feature you carefully deliberate over before making a purchase. Unlike other components of window hardware—such as handle styles or frame colours—you likely won’t spend much time considering trickle vents.

However, despite its small and inconspicuous nature, the trickle vent plays a crucial role in circulating air around a room, even when windows and doors are closed. By allowing a controlled amount of ventilation, the trickle ventilator helps keep a room feeling fresh throughout the year and assists in preventing excess moisture, condensation, and mold. This piece of uPVC is so vital for air quality that it is governed by its own legislation!

Due to recent government changes in Building Regulations, any windows and doors installed after June 15, 2022, must comply with regulations ensuring every home has permanent ventilation through trickle vents. Prior to this date, fitting new trickle vents to door and window replacements was only necessary if they were already present. Now, almost all new and replacement windows and doors must include trickle vents, confirming the importance of this feature.

This is all dependant on your products ordered, some PVC windows and doors are usually ordered and installed within a 4-week time scale. Composite doors are too on a installation time of 4 weeks. Aluminium products can be 4-5 weeks and our bespoke Hardwood range sits in a 10–12-week lead time bracket. We always confirm this with you by email once the orders have been placed and deposit paid.

All of our windows and doors are crafted in the UK through our carefully sourced premium fabricators. This partnership ensures we maintain tight control over our supply chain, enabling us to deliver top-quality windows and doors to the people of Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.

All works undertaken are fulfilled with a 10 Year Guarantee, all orders are provided with this document alongside our Insurance backed Guarantee. Standard work guarantees or warranties are typical nowadays, typically lasting around ten years. However, an insurance backed guarantee (IBG) offers additional security. In the event the contractor ceases trading or retires, the homeowner is covered by the insurance scheme, providing an added level of reassurance. IBGs cover a wide range of home improvement projects, from small porch installations to large commercial ventures.
